Rectangular, the surface of translucent white enamel over banded engine-turned waves and applied with neoclassical foliate trails, chased pellet and mullet border, the bead-framed aperture enclosing a white glass panel graded in Réaumur scale, the bulb and capillary containing blue-dyed alchohol, wood back, silver-gilt scroll strut and suspension loop, struck with workmaster's initials and Fabergé in Cyrillic, 88 standard, scratched inventory number 3931
