The tapering gold guards with gothic terminals and applied overall with turquoise beads interspersed with seed pearls within gold borders, the conforming ivory sticks finely pierced with tracery, diaper pattern and formal foliate motifs, apparently unmarked, in original leather retailer's case, the base with label for 'S. Jahn, ci-devant A. Roempler/ Magasin de Joaillerie et Bijouterie/ à St. Petersbourg', the silk lining affixed with paper inventory label inscribed 'N. 2126. M.'
