A Faberge silver and agate photograph frame, workmaster Michael Perchin, St. Petersburg, circa 1902 the mottled agate body of the frame with beaded silver border, the silver edge of the aperture decorated with beads at intervals below a ribbon-bow, with silver strut, marked with Cyrillic initials of workmaster, Faberge in Cyrillic and 88 standard, also with scratched inventory number 48557. Containing a photograph of Grand Duchess Helen Vladimirovna on her wedding day height 4 1/2in. (11.4cm.) Grand Duchess Helen Vladimirovna (daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir who was the brother of Alexander III) married Prince Nicholas of Greece, 16th of August, 1902. She was the sister of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich (cf. lot 329, a silver kovsh from the Collection of FORBES Magazine). She is shown in this photograph wearing crown jewels. Another item in this catalogue, lot 319, is a Faberge desk clock, which was a wedding present to Grand Duchess Helen Vladimirovna. Provenance: By direct descent to the present owner
