A Russian cameo glass vase, Gus Crystal Works, circa 1900 decorated with trees by a mountain lake in tones of purple, inscribed, 'YU.S.N.M. N-k Gus-Krust'(Yuri Stepanovich Nechaev-Maltsov, heir of Gus'Khrustal'nyy). height 16 in. (40.6 cm.) With the death of I.S Maltsov in 1880, the family's control of the Gus Crystal Works was interrupted. From 1884 to 1894, the factory was operated by the government. In 1894, it became part of the joint-stock company of the Maltsov glassworks. Yu. S. Nechaev-Maltsov, a descendant of I. S. Maltsov, was the last owner of the glassworks.
