A Faberge rhodonite, gold and enamel table cigarette box, workmaster Henrik Wigstrom, St. Petersburg, 1908-1917 of rectangular shape, the rhodonite (orletz) panels mounted en cage with gold borders chased with foliage between white enamel edges, marked with initials of workmaster, 56 standard, Faberge in Latin letters and London import marks for 1912, also with scratched inventory number 23134. Contained in original fitted holly wood case, the silk interior lining of the cover stamped in Cyrillic, Faberge, Petrograd, Moscow, London. length 4 1/4 in. (12.1 cm.) Purchased in London by Mrs. W.B. Leeds, 14th December, 1916. Sotheby's is grateful to Tatiana Faberge for providing this information from the London sales ledgers in her possession.
