Alexander Karlovich Beggrov, 1841-1914 the moonlit neva with st. isaac's beyond signed l.l. oil on canvas 41 by 71.5 cm., 16 by 28 in. Alexander Beggrov was the son of the artist Karl Petrovich Beggrov (1799-1875). Born in St. Petersburg he studied under Alexei Petrovich Bogoliubov in his Paris studio from 1871 until 1874 when he returned to Russia. In that year he began exhibiting with the Wanderers becoming a member in 1876.
