Each painted with an Italianate landscape with figures in the foregrounds, reminiscent of Jacob Philipp Hackert, the first with a conversational scene of young women in Russian dress by a lake, the second with musicians and a dancing couple by a lake, with cows and sheep in the foreground, the back of each gilded with a trellis design interspaced by stylized flowerheads and with polished gilded neck and foot, the ormolu handles formed of grapevine, the first signed N. Kornilov and dated 1825, the second signed Stoletov and dated 1825.
