Central Russia, early 18th Century, the faces have been overcleaned, and the linear drawing of the features has been redefined, extensive repair to the levkas. Compare with a similar icon in the Zolotnitsky Collection, see Paul Muratoff, Thirty Five Russian Primitives, Paris 1931, frontispiece.
