A biscuit Group of Three Inebriated Male Peasants
In a position of mutual support, the central figure abstractedly playing the accordian, dressed in a black tunic over a spotted brown blouse with black top hat, his tottering right-hand companion clasping a vodka flask in one hand, the other vainly attempting to straighten his coat, oval green base, impressed factory mark, also printed under Imperial warrant, stamped No. 42, circa 1880, restorated. For an illustration of a similar group see Sotheby Parke Bernet, New York, 2nd December, 1969, lot 181, also Marvin Ross, Russian Porcelains, no. 52 for a comparable group where the right-hand figure does not carry a flask.
