In the form of a rope and matting tender on flared foot, the lid set with a circular medallion engraved with a coat of arms, makers mark indistinct, 1772. This object is sold together with a note inscribed: Belonged to the Duke of Edinburgh/Queen Victorias Son he was a sailor and this was a copy of a fender.
