St. Petersburg, Period of Alexander II (1855-1881), the borders pierced with arches and gilded, each center painted with a black double-headed eagle holding two shields, one painted with the armorials of the Russian Empire and the other with armorials of Holstein-Gottorp, green cypher marks.These plates are replacements for the eighteenth century Berlin Manufactory service presented by Frederick the Great of Prussia to Grand Duke Paul of Russia (later Paul I).
