BY THE IMPERIAL PORCELAIN FACTORY, ST. PETERSBURG, WITH BLUE AND GRAY UNDERGLAZE FACTORY MARK, ONE WITH GILT DATE 1836 (AND MARKS). Each on a square plinth supporting a pedestal base with a gilt stiff-leaf border, the lower gilt section decorated with rocaille and stylized foliage, one painted with the portrait of Nicholas I, signed F. Krueger and A. Nesterov, 1836, in Cyrillic, the other with Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna, after official court portraits, each within a rectangular gilt frame, the cobalt blue surround decorated with bands of gilt palmettes, each gilt handle designed as a reeded leaf-capped scroll with shell terminal, the trumpet-shaped neck with gilt everted rim.
