A RUBY AND DIAMOND BROOCH IN THE OLD RUSSIAN STYLE
The shaped square openwork frame set with calibre-cut rubies alternating with gold filigree scrolls, suspending a pear-shaped diamond, in a fitted wooden case stamped K. Faberge with Imperial Warrant, Moscow, St. Petersburg. It is possible that this brooch was made by H. Hollming, as the filigree work is very similar to a sapphire and gold brooch by the same maker, cf. A.K. Snowman, Carl Faberge, New York (1983) p. 43.
