A FINE SILVER-GILT MOUNTED GREY AGATE FIGURE OF A HORNBILL
workmaster Michael Perchin
With rose-diamond eyes on an L-shaped perch over a rectangular aventurine quartz base, in original fitted maplewood case.
This bird, which must date before Perchin's death in 1903, seems to be one of the earliest datable pieces. Most hardstone animals and figures were produced under the workmaster Wigstrom, 1903-1917.
