The centre of the bowl repousse and chased in high relief with the Russian eagle within a laurel wreath, the prow with an acorn finial and the handle engraved with foliage and a tulip, the exterior of the rim inscribed and with four roundels of decorative calligraphic svyaz , late 17th Century.
Presented 1690 by Tsar Peter I to Michael Xenophontov, Customs official responsible for the administration of the Government Liquor Tax at the town of Solikamsk.
