by Ovchinnikow, assay master's mark Goldberg no. 623
In the shape of a pseudo-gothic reliquiary shrine on four ball feet, the two longer sides each set with a circular enamel plaque painted with a Russian peasant girl in a frame of silver-gilt pellets, surrounded by 'celtic' ornament in green and pale-blue on a dark-blue-ground within an exterior pale-blue frame deco¬rated with geometric ornament. The short sides each with a pair of exotic birds, the handle of the shrine held in one claw with a medallion painted with a peasant making music in between. The hinged top of the reliquiary shaped as a roof with tiles in alternating pale-blue and green, or red and blue, the openwork gable held at each end by a pair of exotic birds, Moscow 1876.
