The cup of campana shape with a gadrooned lower section, the two handles formed as horns of plenty issuing forth biscuit flowerheads, the front side centred with an oval bust profile of a Classical female on red marbled ground, signed Adams, the reverse decorated with tooled wreaths, bugles and sheaves of corn heightened with stylised acanthus leaves in green; the interior rim reserved with a band of palmettes, gilt interior; the cavetto of the saucer finely painted with a view of the Alexandrovsky Imperial Manufactory, within a similar border; the reverse with gilt inscription Vue de la Manufacture Imperiale d'Alexandrofsky (2).
