Moscow, 1899-1908. Comprising a shaped oblong tray on three bun feet (one missing) with openwork vertical pen-holder, a waisted rectangular ink-well with domed hinged cover, a rectangular waisted stamp-box with realistically painted stamps, a shaped oblong blotter, a pistol-shaped letter-opener, a penholder and a shaped rectangular letter-holder and combined bell-push on four stylized scroll feet with openwork chased back, the front finely enamelled with two guards in Russian costume holding crossed axes before a locked wooden door, flanked by stylized enamel columns, the set decorated in vari-colour shaded enamel, stylized flowers, a griffin and an eagle on moss green, ivory, cinnabar and turquoise grounds (one box missing, minor enamel chips)
