A silver-gilt and cloisonné enamel icon of the Mandylion, Pavel Ovchinnikov, Moscow, 1885 the hem finely chased imitating embroidery, the halo with cloisonné sky-blue enamel, the border with raised rim and stylised enamel corners, titled in champlevé enamel, velvet reverse, struck on the lower edge Ovchinnikov in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial warrant, 84 standard 31.1 by 26.7cm, 12¼ by 10½ in.
