Property of an Important Private Collector, England A large silver galleried tray, Rivage, St Petersburg, circa 1885 in oriental style, finely chased with protruding male and female masks in high relief within an ornamental geometric cartouche, the scrolled handle with ivory insulators, gilt interior, engraved on the underside Charlottenhof 1923, struck on the underside with makers mark beneath the Imperial warrant and underneath the lid with makers initials, 84 standard length with handles 56cm, 22in. Provenance Acquired from A La Vieille Russie, New York in 1958, as a gift for the Silver (25th) Wedding Anniversary of the present owners parents Catalogue Note Rivage was a famous silver firm manufacturing and trading silverware in St Petersburg, mentioned in 1885.
