Cyrillic Maker's Mark V.S.S. (Postnikova-Losseva #740), Assaymaster Anisim Kuz-min, Moscow, 1747, of rectangular shape, raised on four paw feet, the sides chased with strapwork and stylized flowerheads on a pebbled ground, the hinged cover with an incurved step, the border similarly chased as the sides, the top chased with diaper and flowerheads on a matted ground, the cover centered by a flowerhead, 76 ozs. 10 dwts.
The prototype for this casket is a casket, Paris, 1709, sold, Collection D. David-Weill, Paris, 24 November, 1971, lot 57.
