Oval, each side painted with a view from the classical world within a gilded oval, the border painted with pink roses, the handles in the form of female heads, the cover with bud finial, the oval stand painted with a view of a walled town within a gilded oval, the border painted with pink roses en suite with the tureen, the underside of the tureen inscribed, 'VuГ« du Temple de la Cocorde a Agrigente,' and, 'Ciceron decouvre le Tombeau de Syracuse,' the underside of the stand inscribed, 'VuГ« du fort ManГґel,' underglaze blue cypher marks.
