Of tapered cylindrical shape in the form of a barrel with two reeded bands and with a spout, a circular plaque on each side, one inscribed in Cyrillic, "12-24 August 1875," the other engraved with a violin and bow, the hinged cover with the Cyrillic inscription, "It is not the beer or the honey that is important, rather it is the fellowship," the stand engraved in Cyrillic, "H.R.H., the Duke Alfred of Edinburgh," from Count Kutalsov, V. Moshnin and V. Elarov enclosing the Royal cypher "A" (for Alfred), the border with the inscription in Cyrillic, "Our ancestors ate simply but lived almost a hundred years," 70 ozs.
