Containing in the center a large icon of the Holy Visage, 16th Century, overpainted, the Saviour with a somber expression, the towel held by the Archangels Michael and Gabriel, with partly gilded okhlad the borders set with semi-precious stones, the gilded halo and tsata engraved with scrolling foliage; the wings painted with St. Alexei, Metropolitan of Moscow, and Alexei the Fool in Christ, the top painted with the New Testament Trinity flanked by St. Mary of Egypt and St. Nikita, the tops of the wings painted with the Annunication, 17th Century, overpainted, all with elaborate gilded metal okhlads, the box, late 19th Century.
