cyrillic m.i., the lid decorated with the Romanov coat-of-arms, 53/4n. (15cm.) diam.
A grant of nobility to Peter, son of Alexis Moritz, each page finely lettered in cyrillic calligraphy in gold and black, first page with illuminated border incorporating imperial double-headed eagle and many small coats-of-arms, with gold and silver-colored highlights, other pages with floral scrollwork borders illuminated in colors, gold and silver; on one page the large arms of Moritz, signed at the end by Alexander II
