Shaped circular, the dish with shaped rim with stylized foliate and geometric pan-Slavic designs in varicolour champleve enamel, applied with repousse and chased simulated cloth, upon which is a trompe-l'oeil repousse and chased covered cylindrical container imitating a loaf of bread, the hinged cover with finial of an enamelled salt-chair of pan-Slavic design with the Russian adage 'No salt and no bread is only half a meal', marked on base of tray and inside container
