Signed with the artist's monogram on the lower right corner, dedicated on the reverse to a friend and signed in Cyrillic and dated Aleksei Remizov, 1 Hi 1938 PARIS, pen and ink and pencil on paper

Remizov was an artist with a distinctive style, his drawings usually accompanied by text written in the old Slavonic style with swirling tails. His paintings were included in the Der Sturm exhibition of 1921 with those of Picasso and Puni, and a one-man exhibition was held at the Popular Museum in Prague in 1933 with over 1,000 compositions
