The rectangular case hinged at one end, with matted silver finish, set with a gold five ruble coin of 1898 (a profile of Nicholas II on one side and the Imperial Eagle on the other), the other side of the case set with a silver coin of 1784 (a profile of Catherine the Great on one side and the Imperial Eagle on the other), the interior gilded, fitted leather sleeve, marked with initials of workmaster, K. Faberge in Cyrillic with Imperial Warrant and 88 standard (91.66%)
