In art nouveau taste, the shaped inkstand decorated with a bearskin, the glass inkwell with hinged cover applied with the head of a bull, the border with wavy grasses, the underside with a scratched Cyrillic inscription, 'Belovezhskaya Forest (Pusha).' The inscription refers to the forest in modern-day Belarus which was a favorite hunting resort of the Czars.
