The second edition of Tred'iakovskii's anonymous translation of La véritable politique des personnes de qualité, attributed to Nicolas Rémond des Cours. Tred'iakovskii was one of the first non-aristocratic Russians to receive a humanistic education abroad but was apparently treated badly by the nobles surrounding him during his career as Acting Secretary to the Academy. Perhaps this influenced Tred'iakovskii's decision to translate this work, which aims to provide rules of conduct for nobles. As the introduction states, their enemies are always waiting for them to make mistakes. It also includes two poems translated by Kir'iak Andreevich Kondratovich. SK 2680; Sopikov 8495.
