A Silver-Gilt and Cloisonné Enamel Punch Set
Marked P. Ovchinnikov with Imperial warrant, overstriking the Cyrillic initials 'AO', Moscow, 1896-1908
Comprising a bratina, eight charki, a ladle, and a tray; the convex sides of the bratina with panels enclosing varicolor stylized foliate and geometric motifs, set with hardstone cabochons at intervals, beneath a rim with alternating varicolor flower heads, scrolling foliage and amethyst, garnet, and carnelian cabochons, on a slightly spreading foot; the ladle with elongated hook handle and kovsh shaped bowl, with conforming decoration; the charki of traditional form, on domed feet with shaped flat handles, with conforming decoration and set with hardstone cabochons; the circular tray with scalloped rim raised on cushion feet, with supports for the eight charki, with conforming varicolor stylized foliate and geometric decoration and set at intervals with hardstone cabochons, in a fitted wood case, fully marked, the eight charki dated 1908-1917
